Flurry of leasing activity in Sydney’s Redfern

THE retail strip in Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Redfern has seen a flurry of recent leasing activity with multiple deals being signed.

H&R Block Limited is the latest tenant to have secured premises on Redfern Street.

The income tax services company secured a five-year lease of circa. 126sq m* at the ground floor of 156 Redfern Street, at an initial approximate net rent of $52,000 p.a.

The tenant was advised by Kelvin Chand of Lambton Property Group and leased the property through John Skufris of Ray White Commercial South Sydney after relocating from rental premises at 121 Redfern Street.

Separately, the southside Charmers eatery commenced a five-year lease of circa. 75sq m* at the ground floor of 302 Chalmers Street, situated near the intersection of Redfern Street, earlier this year.

It is understood that Domino’s has since also secured new premises nearby.

“Each operator has had previous trading experience in or around Redfern Street and all benefit from being within reasonably close walking distance to and from Redfern Station,” Mr Skufris said.
