Tenants look to Sydney city fringe for fitted office space close to rail transport

Recent leasing in the Sydney city fringe has shown an appetite for fitted office space close to rail.

Ray White Commercial South Sydney‘s John Skufris says the International Business Centre building (pictured) at 2 Cornwallis Street, Redfern, located at the Australian Technology Park, had achieved face rents around and over $700/sqm per annum to a range of tenants including, but not limited to, project and tourism groups.

A top-floor office suite of 213sqm plus parking at the Post building, 46A Macleay Street, Potts Point, had been leased at more than $700/sqm per annum for three years, Mr Skufris says.

“Both buildings are located within close walking distance to Redfern and Kings Cross stations with access to common outdoor areas and could have provided on-site parking, some fit-out and/or workstations respectively,” he says.

A commercial terrace of about 180sqm at 326 Victoria Street, Darlinghurst, near Kings Cross station — with a balcony and built-in workstations plus rear parking — had also recently leased.
