Dessert Bar Opens in Sydney

Korean-themed ice cream group D21 has opened its first Sydney store near World Square in Liverpool Street in the city’s south.

The retailer has leased a retail tenancy at 76 – 78 Liverpool Street, Sydney, that was formerly a car park and storage unit through Ray White Commercial South Sydney’s John Skufris on behalf of a private owner.

John Skufris said: “We were recently approached by another client nearby specifically for dessert bar operators as part of their tenant mix within a renowned hotel.

“Whilst we are in the middle of winter, consumer appetite for ice creams and sorbets remains strong. This was a great value add opportunity for the owners in comparison to parking and storage rents for similar space”.

The opening of D21 Ice Cream coincides with the opening of the Oh! Matcha dessert bar at World Square this month following the revamp of its other Sydney site at Regent Place close to Town Hall.

Separately, Bay Vista’s second dessert bar venue officially opens on Tuesday at Parramatta’s Eat Street, a 700 sqm site over two levels at 330 Church Street following an extensive renovation some 26 years after the opening of its Brighton store.

D21 has taken out a three- year lease at initial gross rental of approximately $3,275 per sqm per annum.
